Schlitze from “Freaks” (1932)

One of the main characters from the 1932 film, Freaks, was Schlitze, a micro encephalic male who wore a dress to make toilet functions easier. This diorama was one of the earliest releases from the then-newly minted Sideshow company. According to the enclosed certificate this is kit #16. To support the base angle brackets were installed underneath (not visible) to add strength. And the back wall is thin and could sag over time so metal strips were glued to the back wall which was covered with foam core board providing the necessary support. A card deck was miniaturized for the table and those Schlitze is holding.
