Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man (1943)

 In Universal

The ice cave set in the Universal Studios’ film, Frankenstein Meets the Wolf Man, does work in the film. The chipping away of the ice is still fun to watch. For this film most remember the smack-down fight at the end of the movie (or maybe the “wine song”) and not this remarkable ice cave sequence. As a lover of the classic Universal horror films it is a pleasure to have this spectacular diorama in the collection. It is one of my favorites. The Lugosi bust fits comfortably in his icy coffin and this entire section is attached to the back via screws. The entire diorama is one of the heaviest in the collection, if not the heaviest. Congratulations to Charlie Norris and his staff for making an outstanding museum quality diorama.
